The event is the third of a series aimed at promoting the Recommendations of the Report on the future of welfare in member states in the context of a European strategy that must be composite, people-centred, and innovative enough to manage transitions, fight inequality, and generate sustainable growth. It is inspired to the report produced in February 2023 by the High-Level Group of experts on “the Future of Social Protection and of the Welfare State in the EU”. Developed as a flagship action of the Action Plan for the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights, it is meant to serve as a roadmap, a tool for the European institutions and the national governments to design such reforms in the framework of EU.
The event will feature some of the experts from the High-Level Group who worked on the Report, the ETUC General Secretary and Confederal Secretary, representatives of the European EP groups/candidates MEPs and of the European Commission.
